History of Robert Young Prior to the 1932 devastating hurricane the families of Watler, Thompson, Hurlstone and Dixon all lived in the Red Bay, Prospect and South Sound areas. They worshipped in the Presbyterian Church in Prospect. Due to severe damage to their homes and the church sustained by the hurricane they moved to Crewe Road and for many years held worship services on the front porch of Mr. and Mrs. Macpherson Thompson. The Rev. J. Moon and Rev. George Hicks served as their Pastor during this time. In 1952 Macpherson [ better known as Captain Mack ] donated the property on which the church now stands and along with all the residents of Crewe Road gave of their time and monetary gifts towards the building of the church.
