Alpha Marriage Course - Let's Stay Together

What is Let’s Stay Together?
Elmslie Memorial United Church, St Georges Anglican in association with Margaritaville is currently presenting “LETS STAY TOGETHER” 8 nights of straight talk about marriage. It’s the fourth year that we are running the programme in collaboration with Margaritaville.

Who is the Programme for?
Let’s Stay Together is for couples who want a strong and lasting relationship. It doesn’t matter how long they’ve been together. Couples who have been married for many years, as well as newlyweds, have enjoyed and benefited from the programme. If you already have a strong marriage, this programme can help you make it even better. If your marriage is in difficulty, the programme will help provide you with very practical tools to help you work through issues. The programme uses material from the Marriage Course produced by Holy Trinity Brompton in the UK and is based on Christian principles of marriage. The programme is full of practical advice for all marriages and we welcome church couples as well as couples without a church background. Many have enjoyed and benefited from the course.

What are the sessions like?
Each session typically begins with a meal and each couple has a private table. Over a candlelit dinner, couples have an opportunity to spend time together with each other. Dinner is followed by a talk presented on DVD, interspersed with exercises and questions for each couple to discuss privately. During the discussion times, music is played in the background to prevent any conversations from being overheard. Some last year loved the background music. At no time during the sessions is there any group discussion or any requirement to disclose anything personal to anyone other than your spouse.
